ByteDance has entered the AI-generated video market with the launch of Jimeng AI, a text-to-video app developed by Faceu Technology. Available on both Android and the Apple App Store in China, the app offers various subscription plans: 69 yuan ($9.65) monthly, 79 yuan for a single month, or 659 yuan annually, allowing users to create up to 168 AI videos per month. This move follows similar releases by other Chinese tech companies, including Kuaishou’s Kling AI and Zhipu AI’s Ying model, as they compete in the burgeoning AI video sector.

Other Chinese tech firms are also venturing into this emerging market. Kuaishou recently released its Kling AI text-to-video model, which is available globally and requires only an email address for registration. Additionally, Zhipu AI introduced its Ying model, and Shengshu launched its Vidu app shortly after.

ByteDance’s expansion into this field underscores the competitive landscape of AI technology in China, with major companies striving to innovate and capture market share. Jimeng AI’s subscription service is competitively priced, enabling users to produce up to 168 AI videos per month, highlighting ByteDance’s commitment to leveraging AI in multimedia content creation.
